Installing InterAction Broadcast Email adds the required program files. The Broadcast Email service appears on the Services menu. You can use this service to send an email to the current contact, marked contacts, or all contacts in the current folder. When you choose this command, it displays a dialog box in which you can set additional options about the email message, such as whether to use the Home or Business email address.
During installation, you can choose to administer InterAction Broadcast Email centrally. If you select this option, no services are added. You can use InterAction Administrator to set up a system service for the application.
Adding Services
Although the installation automatically creates the service, you may want to create additional services to launch InterAction Broadcast Email with specific settings. This is useful if you want to set up different defaults for commonly-sent email messages such as electronic newsletters.
You also need to manually create a service if you want to configure InterAction Broadcast Email centrally through a system service.
For instructions on how to create a service, see Creating and Maintaining Personal Services.
When you create a service to launch InterAction Broadcast Email, enter the following in the New/Edit Services dialog box:
- Program path and filename - Enter the full path to the Broadcast Email executable. By default, this is:
C:\Program Files\LexisNexis\InterAction\Client\IABEmail.exe - Start in - Enter the directory location of the Broadcast Email executable. By default, this is:
C:\Program Files\LexisNexis\InterAction\Client.
You can use command line parameters to configure the default options for Broadcast Email. See Using Command Line Parameters.
