When you create or edit a service in InterAction, you enter details like the menu text, status bar text, program file to run, startup directory, and any command line parameters or tokens to pass data. You can also add shortcuts like toolbar buttons or double-click actions, and you can create, edit, or delete personal services using the Manage Services dialog box.
When creating or editing a service, you specify the following items:
- Menu text that should appear on the Services menu in InterAction. This also appears in the tooltip for the service if the user assigns the service to a toolbar button.
- Status bar text that should appear in status bar at the bottom of the InterAction window.
-
Program filename of the program to launch.

- You can pass InterAction data to the filename via tokens if necessary. See Using InterAction Tokens with Services for details.
- Start In directory location for the program. This is normally the directory that contains the program or its related files.
- Any command line parameters that InterAction should pass to the program after launching it. You can pass InterAction data as a command line parameter via tokens, described in Using InterAction Tokens with Services.
