By default, InterAction automatically formats phone numbers using the following formats:
(312) 555-1234
1 (312) 555-1234
555-1234
The formatting occurs after the user enters the phone number and moves to a different edit field or saves the phone.

[B] ...and InterAction automatically applies standard phone number formatting
Users can manually format phone numbers with a different format by entering a plus sign (+) at the beginning of the number. In addition, if the majority of phone numbers in your area should be formatted differently, you can turn off the phone automatic formatting option.
To Turn Automatic Phone Formatting On or Off
Changing the automatic phone formatting option only affects entering new phone numbers. Existing phone numbers are not changed.
- Log on to InterAction Administrator.
- From the main window entity list, double-click Configuration.
- Select the Data Quality tab.
- Select or clear the Automatically Format Phone Numbers option.
- To turn on automatic phone formatting, select the Automatically Format Phone Numbers option.
- To turn off automatic phone formatting, clear the Automatically Format Phone Numbers option.
- Choose OK.
