You can specify a mailing address for each contact. This address can be used when performing tasks such as creating searches, reports or mail merges. A contact can have one global mailing address and one folder-specific mailing address for each folder that contains the contact.
For example, you may want to send most mailings to Jane Tarnoff at her office, but you want to send a holiday card to her home. In this case, her Business address is her Global mailing address while her mailing address in the Holiday Card Marketing List is her home address.
You can set a global address either as a global or folder-specific mailing address. A folder-specific address, however, can only be set as a folder-specific mailing address (specific to the same folder).
Set an Address as a Global Mailing Address
To set an existing global address as a global mailing address, you must have Add or Edit Address access rights to the contact’s source folder. You cannot set a folder-specific address as a global mailing address.
- Log on to the InterAction Windows Client.
Set the folder filter for the Phones & Addresses view to show data from all folders.
- Select the address and choose Phones & Addresses > Set/Clear Mailing Address.
Set an Address as a Folder-Specific Mailing Address
To set an existing address (global or folder-specific) as a folder-specific mailing address, you must have Add or Edit Address access rights to the folder to which you want to make the mailing address specific. If the address is folder-specific, you can only set it as a folder-specific address for the folder to which it is specific.
- Log on to the InterAction Windows Client and open the contact details view for a contact.
Set the folder context filter for the Phones & Addresses view to show folder-specific data from the folder to which you want to make the mailing address specific.
- Choose Phones & Addresses > Set/Clear Mailing Address.
