Data Change Management tickets can be set as complete automatically or manually:
- A ticket is automatically set as complete by InterAction when a data steward selects an explicit action from within the Inbox, such as Accept, Reject, or Merge.
- The data steward also has the option of manually setting a ticket as complete by choosing the Set as Complete button.
The Set as Complete option is available on the lower portion of the Inbox view or in the Mark menu. The data steward can designate that the ticket was completed regardless of whether a change is actually made. If the data steward implements a change, he or she can set the ticket as complete after manually applying changes using InterAction tools or editing features outside of the Inbox. Alternately, the data steward can opt to set the ticket as complete to just close the ticket without specifying that a system action be taken. This essentially accepts the current state of the information in the system and makes no changes to user and firm contacts.
What Should I Do with Outdated Tickets?
Data Change Management tickets may become outdated over time as users update contact information.
For example, you receive an Unassociated Company ticket in your Inbox notifying you that Lauren Catherine was added to InterAction with a company name, but she was not associated with a company. Later, a user associates Lauren with Power Industries in InterAction. The Unassociated Company ticket changes status to Outdated because the ticket is no longer current.
If you use the Comprehensive View often to resolve tickets, it is best to resolve Outdated tickets in the Comprehensive View when you are resolving all other tickets for the contact. This is because you may want to view the Outdated tickets when researching other tickets.
If you use the By Ticket view often to resolve tickets and are looking to quickly reduce the number of tickets in your Inbox, you can clear Outdated tickets from your Inbox by first refreshing the Inbox, then sorting by Status to group all Outdated tickets together. Then, mark all Outdated tickets and choose Set as Complete.
