When users create or edit certain contact information, InterAction captures the creation or edit date and user name. The following table lists the create and last edit items that are captured:

You can view this information from the appropriate views and dialog boxes. For example, to see the creation and last edit information for an address, select the address in the Phones and Addresses view and choose Phones & Addresses > Edit Address to display the Edit Address dialog box.
[1] To view the last edit details, you must choose the More button.
[2] Creation and Last Edit Information is automatically updated as you make changes.
[3] InterAction allows you to enter Edit Comments when you make a change. This information must be manually entered into the field each time you make a change.
The dialog box only shows the edit comments and last edit information for the last edit. To see a more complete edit history for the contact, you need to view the audit trail. See Using the Audit Trail for more information.
When creating a search, you can find the creation and last edit fields within the Audit Trail field group.
You can create searches based on the creation and last edit information. For example, to review the most recent contacts added to the system, create a search that looks for contacts where the contact creation date is on or after a specified date.
Last Edit Information in the General View
Changes made to salutations, phones, or addresses are not tracked in last edit information for the General view.
Last edit information applicable to the General view, for both person contacts and company contacts, can be found on the Details tab. Last edit information provided in the General view functions in the same way as it does in other places in InterAction. However the last edit information for the General view does not track changes made to all General view fields. Last edit information will provide the date of a change and the person who made that change in the following fields:
- Title
- First Name, Middle Name, Last Name
- Suffix
- Job Title
- Goes By
- Company Association
- Department
- Assistant
- Owner
- Company Name
