The first panel of the new contact wizard allows you to enter name and contact type information for the company you are creating.
[1] You can select to source the contact in the public folders or in a different location. Generally, contacts should always be sourced in the public folders.
[2] When you select Other and choose Next, a warning panel appears. You can select a folder in which the contact will be sourced. The list only displays folders that allow company contacts. In addition, you must have Add Contact access rights to the folder. The list also includes the current folder if the current folder allows company contacts and you have Add Contact access rights to the folder.
If InterAction identifies possible existing duplicates of the contact you are creating, it displays the following panel:
[1] InterAction searches for potential duplicates. If you are creating a contact not sourced in the Firm Contacts - Companies folder, InterAction also searches the source folder. Possible duplicates are displayed in this list.
[2] If the contact you are creating does not match any of the existing contacts in the list, select to create a new company and choose Next to continue creating the new contact.
[3] If the company you are creating appears in the list, select the contact and choose Next. If the existing contact is a business contact, InterAction will allow you to add the company to folders.
If the company is not a duplicate, enter the addresses for the contact.
[1] Select to make the address a mailing address.
If the company is sourced in the Firm Contacts - Companies folder, InterAction displays the following panel:
The list of Marketing Lists consists of the marketing list folders that allow companies and those to which you have Link Into access rights. See Using Marketing Lists in the Windows Client for more information on Marketing Lists.
The list will only display folders that allow company contacts. In addition, you must have Link Into access rights to the folder. Finally, InterAction also includes the current folder if you have Link Into access rights to the folder and the folder allows companies.
